
Anthony Ochieng Onyango
Anthony Ochieng Onyango is a Kenyan conservation photographer, filmmaker, and wildlife ecologist whose work uses visual storytelling to promote conservation awareness across Africa. He is also a National Geographic Explorer.
Trained in wildlife ecology, Ochieng integrates scientific research with photography and film to communicate complex environmental issues to both local and international audiences. His work spans terrestrial and marine ecosystems, with a strong focus on human–wildlife coexistence, community-led conservation, and ocean protection.
He is recognized for documenting conservation stories at the intersection of ecology, culture, and community, including human–elephant interactions in Kenya, marine biodiversity in African waters, and grassroots initiatives led by local conservation groups. His approach combines field research, long-form storytelling, and educational engagement.
